Advisory Board

Dr. Vilen Neiman

Dr. Vilen Neiman has doctorate in mechanical engineering from the Moscow Institute of Oil, brings 30 years of experience in 60 oil and gas fields to Tearlach. His main specialization is in the complex application of logging data combined with core analysis results and fluid finds, as well as detailed investigation of petroleum and gas deposits. Dr. Neiman is an accomplished academic, the author of over 100 publications, three monographs, and over 20 oil and gas related patents.

Dr. Neiman has supervised the recalculation of some of the largest gas fields in the former Soviet Union. Utilizing the “logging-influenced-logging” system, Dr. Neiman was able to increase the reserve estimate in the Senoman accumulation of Urengoy from 3.9 trillion m³ to 7.4 trillion m³. This nearly doubled production on the commercial gas deposits on the Urengoy field resulting in a significantly larger export to Europe.

Dr. Ignatiy Petoukhov

Ignatiy Petoukhov has doctorate in mechanical engineering from the Leningrad Mining Institute, and is an honored Russian Scientist and Engineer who occupies many prestigious posts.  These posts include, the president of the International Center of Geodynamical Safety, which is part of the UN’s European Ecological Commission, and the committee chairman of the International Bureau on Mining Rock Bursting and Blowouts. He is also a member of the Academy of Natural Science and the Academy of Mining Sciences.

Impressively, Dr. Petoukhov co-founded the new branches of earth sciences, Geodynamics of Earth’s entrails which has been very influential in the development of new methods for stimulation inflows, productivity of oil and gas well bores, as well as deep and super deep well bores. In addition, Dr. Petoukhov is the three time Laureate of the Federal Honor Prize, twice USSR and once Russia.  He is the author of 14 books, 220 scientific papers and over 100 oil and gas related patents.

Mr. Kurt E. Sickles

Kurt E. Sickles has a masters of petroleum engineering from the University of Southern California, and has served as the Vice President of Operations at Stockdale Oil & Gas Inc. since June 1995, where he increased production upwards of 400%. In addition, he was the Chief Engineer with the Navel Petroleum Reserves at Elk Hills where production reached 165,000 BOPD.

His resume highlights a depth of knowledge ranging from: the design and implementation of a steam displacement program, to aiding in the start up of three surviving independent oil companies as well as the coordination and organization of drilling programs including management and supervision of both personnel and budget.
