Tearlach Resources Sudbury Basin project has 26 km of strike length on the Foy and Hess Offset Dykes – Nickel-Copper-Platinum Group Element (“PGE”) – as part of the North Range of the Sudbury Igneous Complex (“SIC”), the hosting unit of the largest nickel-sulphide mining camp ever discovered.
Approximately 50% of the known metal value in Sudbury resides in offset dykes. New discoveries continue to be found in this vast structure – thought to be the remains of an original 250-kilometre wide meteorite impact basin that generated the mineralization. |
|
Offset dykes are an area of intensely focused exploration by Xstrata Nickel (formerly Falconbridge) Inco Ltd, FNX Mining Inc, Wallbridge Mining and Crowflight Minerals. This focus has led to new resources and discoveries by all of these companies.
Tearlach, to date, has identified three sulphide bearing zones within its Offset Dyke structures which are suitable target zones suitable for deep mineralization |
Sudbury Offset Dykes
The Copper Cliff Offset Dyke displays typical offset dyke –type mineralization. The longitudinal section below shows the vertical extent and density of occurrence mineralized ore pods.

1. Ore shoots. 2. Current tonnage is closer to 12.5 Mt (pers.comm.) - final metal value is likely to equal or exceed Voisey’s Bay. * Metal content at 100% sulphide (data from Naldrett, 1984). Av. = average.
